Vilma Almendra y el palabrandar indígena: hacia una integración de saberes desde la Abya Yala

The article investigates the notion-practice of the Palabrandar (‘word on the way’) as an epistemological expression of an inte- grative dialogue between indigenous knowledge of Abya Yala/ Afro/Latin America. The notion-practice of the Palabrandar is elaborated by the Nasa-Misak writer Vilma Almendra and is the result of a long trajectory of search for autonomous dis- cursive models for the struggles of the indigenous peoples of Cauca (Colombia). Based on her experience as a member of the ‘Tejido de Comunicación’ of ACIN and the initiative ‘Pueblos en Camino’, Almendra proposes Palabrandar as a resistant and alternative way of thinking, communicating and acting from indigeneity. Almendra’s reflections are analyzed within a cartography of epistemological models from the in- digenous peoples of the continent. In this order of ideas, a focus is proposed on three ontological-symbolic aspects of the Palabrandar: the act of ‘walking of the word’, the collectiviza- tion of the word, the relationship between word and action.
