The Authors demonstrate that, in the case of at least Epistle 8, we have papyrological evidence of itse early provenance and this allow to claim an early provanence for Epistle 7 as well. This, of course, is not to say that letters (some of them) were written by Plato’s hand, but that they belong to a milieu that was ideologically and chronogically close to the author, as it is also the case with other big corpora, such as those of Isocrates and Demosthenes.

Abstract
The Authors demonstrate that, in the case of at least Epistle 8, we have papyrological evidence of itse early provenance and this allow to claim an early provanence for Epistle 7 as well. This, of course, is not to say that letters (some of them) were written by Plato’s hand, but that they belong to a milieu that was ideologically and chronogically close to the author, as it is also the case with other big corpora, such as those of Isocrates and Demosthenes.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
