Abstract
Theoretical reflections around photography and the photographic have straddled the line between ontology and phenomenology, between "what is" photography and "what does it do to us". The shift from analog to digital has triggered a further set of questions and theoretical positioning, and a re-discussion of the photographic as indexical. In the contemporary iconosphere, the combination of digital, virtual, internet, smartphones, social media and social networks brings to the forefront values of proliferation, immediacy and connectivity as determining factors in the creation of a mode of vision and a collective imaginary. The paper analyzes how all this also has important repercussions on the process of knowing and experiencing a work of art, an exhibition or a museum through the reproduction of images, which, through networking and interaction, become the main engine of a re-gnification of the work of art and the world itself.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
