L'Edipo re tra colpa e destino

Edipo re, una favola nera, a play staged at the Teatro Elfo Puccini in March 2022, focuses on a reinterpretation of the Oedipus myth in a dark, fairy-tale key. From the dramaturgy to the staging of the text, from the music to the set design, everything leads to the creation of a broader, more complete and explanatory constellation that allows this myth to be deciphered in a contem- porary key. The aim of this performance is to reflect on the archetype of the Oedipus myth and to propose it to the audience under a new key. In particular, this text analyses several scenes from the opera paying particular attention to the common thread of Edipo’s fate that runs through the whole story.
