The article deals with the participation of the Italian Expeditionary Force in the intervention of the Entente countries. In the ranks of the Italian formations, former prisoners of war of Italian origin of the Austro-Hungarian army, who were in Russian captivity at the beginning of the First World War, also fought. Particular attention is paid to the complex process of searching for and collecting Italian prisoners of war scattered throughout Russia, as well as their transportation and further involvement in the fight against the Bolsheviks in the changed conditions both within Russia and in the international arena.

Abstract
