Fluid balance disturbances should be prevented and properly managed. Among these, hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disorder in hospitalized patients, and its level and that of other electrolytes should be properly managed to avoid complications and increase healthcare quality. The dataset was used to stimulate the writing of the article "Oral hydration before and after hip replacement: the notion behind every action", which was published in the journal Geriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation in 2022.
