Objectives. Provides to health professionals, involved in prevention and treatment of oral diseases, unambiguous and shared information based on the scientific available evidence. Methods. A working group was established by Ministerial Decree; after analysis of the literature a guideline (LG) EBM has drafted. Results and conclusions. LG have been formulated on the following topics: caries and gingivitis prevention. Oral diseases prevalence and incidence remains at high level in Italian children. Therefore, there is a clear need to promote oral health and to plan preventive programs in children.
