Meats of Italian and foreign origin were analysed with PCR-SCCP and PCR product sequencing in order to verify foreign meat to belong to bovine (Bos taurus) species. SSCP patterns showed polymorphism which were difficult to categories. Sequencing results showed homologies above 98% between analysed product and bovine and zebu (Bos indicus) sequences.
