In discussing Canale’s understanding of conceptions of law the paper suggests that it corresponds to one of two ways of understanding those conceptions and the nature of legal theory and that such labels as Natural Law, Legal Positivism and Neo-Constitutionalism denote different things when referred to conceptions of law of the one or the other kind.
