Respiratory diseases cause loss of productivity in pig houses. Cough is element for diagnosis. Acoustic features like Root Mean Square (RMS), peak frequency [Hz] and duration, of cough sounds from Pasteurellosis pneumonia infection (S) are compared with healthy cough from inhalation of citric acid (H).There is no difference in the RMS value. H mean peak frequency is 1178 Hz, S is 500 Hz (P<0.004). Duration shows lower values (P<0.0001) for H (μ: 0.25 seconds) than for S (μ: 0.30 seconds). Time among S: 0.37 s seems shorter than among H 0.52 s. Sound analysis provides physic acoustic features that can be used as tool to detect and label cough in a automatic monitoring system applied in farms.Respiratory diseases cause loss of productivity in pig houses. Abstract
