Un piatto in porfido da Cremona : Note su una classe di vasellame di lusso

The paper is a publication of fragments of a large plate of red porphyry, which were excavated in an urban context at Cremona, that is tratigraphically datable before ad 69. It is the oldest example of such precious Egyptian marble objects from a dated context, which allows us to fine the chronology and make certain observations about this class of high value objects,which were pre sum ably ssociated with consumers at the highest level of society, which may largely have been members of the house of the emperor, but ultimately remain elusive.
