Abstract

In Latin the term "arare" is used to define both agricultural activity and the act of writing. The two activities are also linked by juridical sources and this helps to explain, in terms of an analogy, the same regulations regarding the hypothesis of sowing seed on someone else''s agricultural land and writing on someone else''s literary work.
