Cross reactivity between mammalian proteins has been frequently described, in particular it is well known the high degree of homology between buffalo's and cow's milk. Anyway, buffalo's milk allergy is poorly investigated and so far only a case of severe allergy to buffalo's milk has been published. We report the case of a 6 years old boy with history of anaphylaxis to buffalo's mozzarella cheese and of allergic reactions to ewe's and goat's cheese. Allergy to all mammalian Bovidae proteins but cow's milk was demonstrated in this child by immunoblotting experiments. This case report suggests that there is the possibility of an associated goat-ewe-buffalo allergy without milk allergy, and it helps in order to give right advices on diet.
