M. Murav’ev’s fable “The Banishment of Apollo”, first published in Murav’ev’s didactic “Journal” “An inhabitant of a suburb”,was shown to be the poetic version of one Fénelon’s tales, embedded in his pedagogical novel “The adventures of Telemachus”. Conclusions about the relationship between prose and verse genres in the last quarter of Eighteenth century were drawn.
