The main aim of this paper is to make some remarks about how new media can play a key role in the final fulfillment of the cultural changes the Western anthropocentric civilization has to do to handle the ecological and social crises of our century. I claim that hypertext, in particular, could be decisive in helping to tackle different problems related to the contemporary global big bang. I argue that the World Wide Web can help people to develop or strengthen a faculty that I suggest naming L.I.N.K. (Life, Innovation, Nature, and Knowledge), with the purpose of understanding through the use of a single term all the main areas covered by the linking thinking shift we need. I also provide some concrete suggestions for the social movements involved with this cultural change to promote their theories and intentions in a more effective way through the use the World Wide Web.
