The ms. BAV, Reg. lat. 1728 contains a French translation, abridged and reworked, of Jean de Roquetaillade’s Vade Mecum in tribulatione (1356), a sort of guide to accompany the faithfuls through the tribulations associated with the next coming of the Antichrist. In this XVth century rewriting, eschatological themes are used in view of the faithful’s edification. The critical edition of the French text is preceded by an introduction which analyzes the rewriting work done by the translator and followed by a glossary.
