The articles analyses the changes introduced by the Treaty of Lisbon with regard to the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the EU; the author argues that the EU has not yet achieved a role in the international scenario which is equivalent to the its economic weight. The author traces the steps of the European integration and stresses the difficulties encountered especially within the field of CFSP, finally she analyses the new possibilities opened up by the Treaty of Lisbon.
