Four species of Chironomidae new for Cyprus are reported. These are: Procladius choreus, Rheocricotopus tirolus, Chironomus salinarius and Paratendipes nudisquama. Except Rheocricotopus tirolus all species are widespread in Europe. Rheocricotopus tirolus was up to now recorded mainly from northern and central part of the continent, however it was also found on Iberian Peninsula and North Africa.

Abstract
