For the first time, Sir John Soane''s short autobiographical narrative has ben published and edited in Italy, with a conspicuous apparatus of 16 illustrations and a research introdution written by the editor. Thanks to this introduction and to the whole book, it is now possible to assess Soane''s impact on British culture and literature, a crucial aspect of the architect''s presence heretofore unexplored.
