Il contributo prende in considerazione la relazione tra guerra e sport nelle fonti antiche greche e romane, soffermandosi in particolare su alcuni aspetti: il significato della tregua olimpica ieri e oggi, i combattimenti spettacolari tipici delle arene romane e l’identificazione tra atleta e guerriero. The essay analyses the relationship between war and sport in ancient Greek and Roman sources, focuses in particular on some aspects: the meaning of the Olympic truce in the past and today, the spectacular fights typical of the Roman arenas and the identification between athlete and warrior.
