Ocho Rios Confidential. Rossellini alla Fox tra Sea Wife e il codice Hays

Thanks to the retrieval of unpublished sources never studied before, the essay reconstructs for the first time what really happened when the director Roberto Rossellini was commissioned to direct the film Sea Wife (Bob McNaught, 1957) in Jamaica, under the aegis of Twentieth Century Fox for Sumar Film, with Richard Burton and Joan Collins among the actors. Identifying the real reasons for this little-known failed direction by Rossellini, it also brings into focus the role it had in the director's separation from his wife Ingrid Bergman.

Grazie al reperimento di fonti inedite mai studiate prima, il saggio ricostruisce per la prima volta ciò che veramente accadde quando il regista Roberto Rossellini fu incaricato di dirigere in Giamaica il film Sea Wife (La sposa del mare, Bob McNaught, 1957), sotto l’egida della Twentieth Century Fox per la Sumar Film, con Richard Burton e Joan Collins fra gli interpreti. Individuando i veri motivi di questa poco nota regia mancata di Rossellini, ne mette anche a fuoco il ruolo avuto nella separazione del regista dalla moglie Ingrid Bergman.
