The show 887 directed by the eclectic theatrical Canadian artist Robert Lepage is a foray into the world of memory, a story that begins in his childhood memories. Through the set-up of a scenographic setting ʻtransformativeʼ, the author immerses himself in the heart of his memory, questioning about his mechanisms (Why do we remember the phone number of our youth, while we forget the current one? Why does useless information persist, while others, more useful, escape?). The essay examines the creative process of the Lepage’s show in light of the ‘autofiction’ technique, which allows the artist to feed the autobiographical reality with elements halfway between truth and fantasy.

Abstract
The show 887 directed by the eclectic theatrical Canadian artist Robert Lepage is a foray into the world of memory, a story that begins in his childhood memories. Through the set-up of a scenographic setting ʻtransformativeʼ, the author immerses himself in the heart of his memory, questioning about his mechanisms (Why do we remember the phone number of our youth, while we forget the current one? Why does useless information persist, while others, more useful, escape?). The essay examines the creative process of the Lepage’s show in light of the ‘autofiction’ technique, which allows the artist to feed the autobiographical reality with elements halfway between truth and fantasy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
