Cryoballoon ablation is a recognized and widespread method for pulmonary vein isolation. For many years the impossibility of using it to create additional lines was considered a drawback of this approach. However, recently, the technique was adapted to allow the creation of rooflines, and potentially also inferior lines. In this article, we present the first reported case of a patient submitted to pulmonary vein isolation plus posterior wall isolation using the novel Boston POLAR X™ cryoballoon exclusively. To confirm the quality of the lesions, the patient underwent pre and postablation high-density mapping.

Abstract
Cryoballoon ablation is a recognized and widespread method for pulmonary vein isolation. For many years the impossibility of using it to create additional lines was considered a drawback of this approach. However, recently, the technique was adapted to allow the creation of rooflines, and potentially also inferior lines. In this article, we present the first reported case of a patient submitted to pulmonary vein isolation plus posterior wall isolation using the novel Boston POLAR X™ cryoballoon exclusively. To confirm the quality of the lesions, the patient underwent pre and postablation high-density mapping.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
