The contribution takes into account a particular type of justice, the environmental one, little known and underdeveloped in legal-sociological theory. It is called upon to regulate and remedy the great inequalities that mark the social classes and territories, nations and ethnicities, in relation to their relationship with the environment. The history of the environmental, natural or industrial disasters that have dot Italian history since the Second World War is re-read, highlighting the profound and often dramatic social asymmetries of power and rights that the accompanied, in terms of causes as well as in terms of effects. The contribution also underlines the role that corruption and organised crime have historically played in many of these events.
