Two crystalline modifications of LR-B 0/81, a new antihypertensive molecule, have been detected and characterized by various solid state analytical techniques such as DSC, FT-IR Thermomicroscopy, XRD and SEM. Form I, the most stable one, has a melting point of 177°C whereas form II melts at 144°C. The system is related monotropically, as demonstrated by the results of micronization and heating experiments. Since dissolution rates of the two crystal forms are very similar, polymorphism do not affect bioavailability of solid dosage form.

Abstract
Two crystalline modifications of LR-B 0/81, a new antihypertensive molecule, have been detected and characterized by various solid state analytical techniques such as DSC, FT-IR Thermomicroscopy, XRD and SEM. Form I, the most stable one, has a melting point of 177°C whereas form II melts at 144°C. The system is related monotropically, as demonstrated by the results of micronization and heating experiments. Since dissolution rates of the two crystal forms are very similar, polymorphism do not affect bioavailability of solid dosage form.Pubblicazioni consigliate
