This essay considers the editorial history of two books of poems, respectively "The Ledger" by Robert Kroetsch and "Steveston" by Daphne Marlatt, in the light of the importance given to the visual, pictorial and photographic elements as integral parts of the written text in Canadian poetry after the "concrete" period.
