The essay offers a descriptive study of a project recently launched in a small town in the province of Pavia. Campus Spark is a co-working and co-housing structure that houses the headquarters of a number of companies operating in the ICT sector. The research offers a reflection on the evolution of urban sprawl in Milan, starting from the example of a concrete project. It raises interesting issues which can be addressed from two different points of view: on the one hand, it makes it possible to study the impact of this project on the local context in which it is embedded; on the other, it enables an evaluation of the potential role of projects of this kind in the development process of Milan’s urban region in its current phase of recomposition as a metropolitan archipelago.

Abstract
The essay offers a descriptive study of a project recently launched in a small town in the province of Pavia. Campus Spark is a co-working and co-housing structure that houses the headquarters of a number of companies operating in the ICT sector. The research offers a reflection on the evolution of urban sprawl in Milan, starting from the example of a concrete project. It raises interesting issues which can be addressed from two different points of view: on the one hand, it makes it possible to study the impact of this project on the local context in which it is embedded; on the other, it enables an evaluation of the potential role of projects of this kind in the development process of Milan’s urban region in its current phase of recomposition as a metropolitan archipelago.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
