Uno, nessuno o centomila redditi di base? Dalla proposta generale agli scenari di policy

The essay discusses two issues that have gained little consideration so far within the strands of the literature dealing with Universal Basic Income, and namely that of the challenges related to the concrete policy design of basic income measures and their political practicability according to different welfare contexts. The paper argues that despite the existence of a wide public support towards the introduction of a UBI, when it comes to concrete policy scenarios deep tensions among actors could arise undermining the political practicability of such options and making UBI the object of an “overlapping dissent”.
