The sudden death of Aldo Manuzio jr in 1597 and his inheritance are reconstructed in an innovative way, thanks to a group of unpublished letters of Niccolò Manassi, manager of the Manuzio firm in Venice. The focus is on the networks of Aldo, in Rome and in Venice, and the content of his legendary private library. All the letters are published in the original language and with a commentary.
