Abstract
In recent urban regeneration projects retail trade has been assuming a central role. It is widely considered an enlivening instrument in urban society both in relation to its repercussion on the economic fabric of the area, and concerning the power to attract flows of people and to foster the creation of a network of relationships. This study aims to examine the underway projects in the old town centre of Piacenza in order to better understand an ongoing partecipated plan related to the urban regeneration of the area. This dissertation analyses methods and results of some projects, as the Town center management (Centro commerciale naturale) “Vita in Centro a Piacenza” and the requalification of Quartiere Roma. In this way it has been possible to highlight the versatile role that planners assign to retail trade in the urban, economic and relational requalification of the districts of a city.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
