Abstract

We took not less as the ancient researches of Hyppocrates on influence of elements and of the atmospheric factors on human organism, with his ancients studies on essential structures of illness (Prognostic), on the climatic and geographical good order (Airs, Water, Places) and on the fusion of this two concepts (Epidemic), as a starting point to institute, in the University of Studies of Milan in the year 1969, the Centre of Researches on Medical Bioclimatology for analysis and researches of the meteo-climatic-ambiental impact on human health. During this years were realized many studies, researches, seminars, conventions and vocational training activities, specifically destined towards doctors. It is, in this moment, the unique example of so an institution, in Italy, and so it was, for many years. Relatively recent was the addition of the Centre of the complementary medicine, together with the traditional activities regarding the medical biometeoclimatology, obtaining the approbation of WHO. In fact at the moment the Centre is designed as a collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine. Starting form this historical context we are going to develop synergies between descriptive biometeoclimatology and the climatic change in course, as basis, on one hand (dinamical biometeo-climatology), and the therapeutic systems, which origin from traditional and/or complementary visions of the actual medicine ‘in toto’, on the other hand. This is the origin, in our Centre, of many complex operative systems (biometeorological forecast for prevention and therapy) in which we try to understand, in an actually wide global vision, the impact that extreme events, as for example: heat waves, cold waves, wind storms, thunderstorms, sudden and unexpected changes and swing in meteorologic, biometeoclimatic indices ecc., have an influence on human organism (psiche-soma), in particular, in preventive and therapeutic field. For this aim we always develop some general Guide-Lines as well in allopatic Medicine as in complementary Medicine. In fact, Traditional Chinese Medicine, which in this moment is growing very fast above all in industrialized West can give a great support to solve problematic concerning the relationship between: weather/climate/climate change/human health.
