In Or. 31.32 and Arc. 3.66-70, Gregory of Nazianzus says that it is impossible to compare the Trinity to a glow that hits the water and is reflected, shivering, on a wall. The article examines the classic sources of the image - both literary and philosophical - and suggests that Gregory knew it thanks to a collection of examples elaborated within the Stoic school.

Abstract
In Or. 31.32 and Arc. 3.66-70, Gregory of Nazianzus says that it is impossible to compare the Trinity to a glow that hits the water and is reflected, shivering, on a wall. The article examines the classic sources of the image - both literary and philosophical - and suggests that Gregory knew it thanks to a collection of examples elaborated within the Stoic school.File in questo prodotto:
