Metalloporphyrin species are effective catalysts for hydrocarbon functionalizations [1]. We have developed a family of binaphthyl bis strapped porphyrins built on a tetra-aminophenylporphyrin scaffold [2]. This geometry provides open space for substrate access, but also imposes substantial steric bulk in the proximity of the metal center. These joint features contribute to give high activity and selectivity. Iron complexes of these porphyrins appeared to be efficient catalysts for the epoxidation of styrene derivatives [2]. Here, we will present the synthesis and the catalytic activity of a further homologated system that should allow an easier access of the substrate to the metal center. In addition to the iron complex, the synthesis and catalytic activities of ruthenium and cobalt derivatives will be presented. References.

Abstract

References.
