One of the lesser known heteronuclear Ag clusters is the sandwich complex cation 1, in which two [Pt3(μ2-CO)3(PiPr3)3] moieties are coupled by a Ag+ ion. 1 could be isolated as the CF3SOmath image salt in the form of air-stable, dark-red, prismatic crystals.
