Presentation and analysis of the excavations of Victor Loret at Saqqara in 1897-99 through the unpublished documents of the Archaeologist kept in the Archives of the Università degli Studi di Milano. These documents allowed the author to establish the previously unknown original position of many objects discovered by Loret, mentioned in his excavation journals. Most of these objects have been finally identified in the Cairo Museum.
