The Corpus Nummorum Italicorum is a well known numismatic work, internationally reputed and still currently used. This work has not previously been studied in its publishing aspects, ‘as a book’. The twenty volumes of the Corpus were all printed in Rome by three different publishers, but the sole agent responsible for the sale was Ulrico Hoepli, publisher in Milan. During the preliminary phases of the publication of the first volume, other publishers were also interested in it. This paper deals with such aspects.
