As of today, the critical edition of Garcilaso de la Vega’s Obras is still raising a series of issues that contributes to keeping the philological debate about it a continued and onging one. While some researchers hold the princeps as the only reliable source text, some others accept the emendations bases on the varia lectio of several different manuscripts –and, in particular, the «Cancionero de Lastanosa-Gayangos». In the following paper, we discuss some variants of the aforementioned codex, thus putting forward a few hypothesis on it and try-ing, with due caution, to tell the certain from the uncertain.
