The research concerning Ochratoxin A (OA) survey in wines packed in brik, object of a previous note (Bulletin O.I.V., 2000, vol. 73, n° 837-838, pp. 772-783), has been extended to bottled red wines randomly collected on the Italian market. The first results show that the identification of Ochratoxin A in bottled wines is not an unusual event since in most cases the values relating to the analysed samples are higher than the quantitation limit of the method applied (0.06 microg/L). The results refer to 18 red wines: for 17 samples the level of ochratoxin A ranges between 0.08 an 4.83 microg/L.
