Hypertrichosis is commonly seen in patients who have received cyclospori A (CsA). We describe a kidney-transplanted child, treated with CsA, who showed severe hypertrichosis. Because of the serious cosmetic problem CsA was replaced by FK506, a potent immunosuppressant drug without hair growth-stimulating effects by oral administration. Massive loss of hair occurred 3 weeks after the beginning of treatment with FK506.

Abstract
Hypertrichosis is commonly seen in patients who have received cyclospori A (CsA). We describe a kidney-transplanted child, treated with CsA, who showed severe hypertrichosis. Because of the serious cosmetic problem CsA was replaced by FK506, a potent immunosuppressant drug without hair growth-stimulating effects by oral administration. Massive loss of hair occurred 3 weeks after the beginning of treatment with FK506.Pubblicazioni consigliate
