Errore diagnostico di esostosi del radio, correttamente diagnosticata ecograficamente: caso clinico

The authors review the limited number of indications for US evaluation in bone pathologies described in the Literature (fractures in children, ribs and sternum fractures, jaw and orbit fractures, callus evolutuion) and describe a case of suspected synovial cyst of the wrist revealedby US to be a bone tumor. The US diagnosis was confirmed by X-Ray exam. The case illustrates the risk of clinical misdiagnosis of tumor whose localization, frequency, shape, size and consistencyare suggestive of synovial cyst. The authors highlight the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of US in the diagnosis of bone pathologies.
