Manuscript Troyes, Médiathèque de l''agglomeration Troyenne, 504, is the earliest witness of the Gregory the Great''s Regula pastoralis. At least two copists have worked at the book; corrections reveal two different authorial draft. Analysis of the textual process declares that Gregory normalized biblical quotations to the Vulgata of Hieronymus, added some exempla, corrected some mistakes and some hard expressions in order to communicate the treatise to a wider public.
