The research seeks to identify the way through which information and communication technologies could support adaptation to climate change in the developing countries which are likely to be the most affected by this phenomenon. Bangladesh and the Sahel were chosen as target areas for their unique ecological and climatic peculiarities. The study reviewed the role of information and related technologies to support community-based adaptation practices and analyzing agricultural information and knowledge needed to cope with climate variability and change in rural Bangladesh. In addition, through the application of statistical analysis and Geomatics tools the critical analysis of the impacts of Green Revolution on food security in Bangladesh was carried out, in order to identify viable adaptation strategies for the national agricultural sector. The analysis of climate and vegetation patterns over Sahelian grassland was performed through Geomatics and RS techniques, with the aim of identifying recent trends as well as the linkages between climate variability and grasslands vegetation dynamics. This study was further deepened by conducting a research at a further spatial level, by examining seasonal grassland biomass production and rainfall dynamics in the North-Eastern region of Matam, in Senegal, through the application and test of innovative Remote Sensing derived indexes.
