Abstract

Two polymorphic forms of the 1:1 charge-transfer adduct between N-methylthiazolidine-2-thione and IBr have been isolated: their structural analyses by a recently reported procedure for comparison of multiple crystal forms of the same molecular structure reveal some interesting geometrical 3D similarity relationships that ca be interpreted in terms of different sets of halogen...pi...halogen weak interactions. The 1:1 charge transfer adduct with I2 has also been isolated and structurally characterized on proven to be isostructural with one of the two polymorphic forms of the IBr adduct.
