So-called "Funktionsverbgefüge" (engl. "light verbs constructions") are most of the time taught at the advanced language level. They present specific formal and functional characteristics (e.g. presence of a function verb, expression of "Aktionsart"/active vs. passive meaning, use in rather - but not only - formal or technical contexts, etc.). Didactic grammars need to adequately describe such characteristics so that learners can apply Funktionsverbgefüge correctly in language production.
