The contribution analyses the autobiographical narration of Eugenio Borgna, the world-renowned phenomenological psychiatrist, in the light of his education which from early childhood and adolescence has been forged by German poetry and literature. The article intends to be a tribute to the interpretations with which Eugenio Borgna was and is still able to enrich the panorama of German studies by greatly contributing to the spread of German literature and culture in Italy and all over the world, thanks to the enormous success of its publications and translations in several languages.

Abstract
