This work focuses on finding a possible link between the number of ultrasound exams that are given to a woman during her pregnancy and the outcome of delivery, in order to find out if the number of ultrasounds affects a different type of delivery, more or less treated. Due to a deep research on a small cross-section and another on a more general one, it doesn’t seem that an excessive use of ultrasounds leads to an overtreated delivery, but this study shows the absolute not relevance of a number of ultrasounds above the three standard for the purposes of a optimal, both delivery and neonatal, final outcome.

Abstract

This work focuses on finding a possible link between the number of ultrasound exams that are given to a woman during her pregnancy and the outcome of delivery, in order to find out if the number of ultrasounds affects a different type of delivery, more or less treated. Due to a deep research on a small cross-section and another on a more general one, it doesn’t seem that an excessive use of ultrasounds leads to an overtreated delivery, but this study shows the absolute not relevance of a number of ultrasounds above the three standard for the purposes of a optimal, both delivery and neonatal, final outcome.
