I numerali per le decine nel “rilievo zingaresco” di Ugo Pellis e il morfema moltiplicativo -var(-) nella romani

The article discusses the multiplicative morpheme -var in the Romani dialects, with special attention to the Abruzzian Romani. A survey of Abuzzian Romani made by Ugo Pellis in the thirties shows that the multiplicative morpheme -var in Abruzzian Romani had already undergone in the multiplicative numerals to a substitution with the omofunctional Greek forà "time". This fact suggests that, at the time of the substitution, the original meaning of var "time", scarcely attested in the Romani dialects was still alive and that the word var was only partially grammaticalized.
