The aim of this paper is identification of histo-morphological patterns associated with the differential and specific modalities of production of iatrogenic lesions in the course of disagnostic and therapeutic surgical procedures. Microscopic morphology patterns are presented for lesions of the vascular walls, the structures that are the most frequent site of iatrogenic lesions, and a comparison is presented between the different modes of wounding (traction, cutting)that may occur in the course of the procedures described earlier. The results seem promising and constitute a starting point for further study in the field of forensic applications.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is identification of histo-morphological patterns associated with the differential and specific modalities of production of iatrogenic lesions in the course of disagnostic and therapeutic surgical procedures. Microscopic morphology patterns are presented for lesions of the vascular walls, the structures that are the most frequent site of iatrogenic lesions, and a comparison is presented between the different modes of wounding (traction, cutting)that may occur in the course of the procedures described earlier. The results seem promising and constitute a starting point for further study in the field of forensic applications.
