The article focuses on the new governance of the Eurozone and its effects on national legai systems. Starting from analysis of the first instruments provided to address the economic crisis, the article examines the tWo new Treaties of 2012, the so-called Fiscal Compact and ESM, which appear anomalous by their very nature, contain a number of defects, and raise critical issues. The analysis underlines the democracy deficit in the development of integration in economic governance and the risk that the long-standing problem of the EU's democratic deficit will be exacerbated. Finally, analysis is conducted on the impact of the "golden rule" of the balanced budget principle on the Italian legal system and its problematic issues.
