The authors present their 10 years experience of out-patient treatment of colostomy complications. The late stoma's complications were: high grade of stenosis, high-middle grade of prolapse, trans-stomal and peristomal fistulas and peristomal varicose veins. We had the best results in surgical correction of colostomy stenosis (89,1% of patients). In the treatment of stoma prolapse we had good results in 50% of cases that underwent button colopexy and in 90% of cases that underwent surgical cut-off of the prolapsed stoma; the patients, operated on by the Thiersch technique, had the worst results (100% of relapse). Surgical treatment of peri and trans-stomal fistulas and peristomal varicose veins was satisfactory in all cases. The authors assert the simplicity, the economy and the good results of the surgical out-patient treatment of stoma complications.
